Regular service helps prevent compressor failure, which can require replacing the entire unit.
We begin by inspecting the outside rooftop unit.

Removing the AC shroud
-
Inspecting the plastic cover for cracks or damage
-
Inspecting wiring connections
-
Looking for debris or nests inside the unit.

-
Start and run capacitors
-
Electrical connections
-
Wiring insulation
-
Control board condition
-
Compressor startup operation
(Weak capacitors are common and can cause hard starting or compressor damage)
In the coach we:
-
Inspecting the interior ceiling assembly
-
Checking airflow from vents
-
Inspecting ducting (if ducted system)
-
Verifying fan operation
(Restricted airflow is a major reason RV AC freeze up or cool poorly.)
We measure:
-
Intake air temperature
-
Supply air temperature
-
Temperature drop across the evaporator (16–22°F temperature drop between return air and supply air)
